Continua Kid's Sucess Stories

My Journey with Autism
I want to document my rendezvous with Continua Kids, as my child was diagnosed with Autism. Of course, it came as a big shock to me as I didn’t know a thing about it, and all I felt was that something was seriously wrong with my child.

I want to start by saying Autism is not a tragedy; ignorance is the tragedy. Parents need to remember that all children on the autism spectrum are unique, and what defines one may not define another. While some autistic children are non-verbal, which was the case with my child, others have an unbelievable talent for things like music and art. This realization was brought to me by the fantastic set of workers in continua kids Gurgaon. The whole staff works tirelessly with complete dedication to bringing out the best in a child. That’s what I feel. I have spent six months with my 2.5-year-old son, who has not connected with the world around him. I recall my first meeting with Dr.Puja Kapoor and how compassionately she heard me out and interacted with my 2.5 years and made me realize that my child needs to be helpful and early intervention is the key to fighting these behavioral issues which come with ASD. I was shattered as my child looked like any other child but I needed external support to build connections with the outside world. I geared up and put my trust in Dr.Puja and her team, and now, with immense gratitude, I can only say that my child, who is three years old, is out of ASD. I can only speak for myself with my experience and how my child’s therapist/trainers worked on the development plan for my three years – the results today are there for all to see.
Bavita Maam was my child’s 1st Occupational therapist. How amazingly she handled my child and guided me to work on my little one at home. I followed her with complete dedication, and I am glad I did. There were Samar Sir & Vishal Sir, whom I would like to thank as they shouldered my child’s development in ABA class—a big shout of thanks to both of them. As the plan was chalked out from continua kids, my child was eventually handed over to Divya Ma’am, and I can’t thank her enough for shaping my child in the last few months of his time there. All my therapists were my guiding angles and put effort into my child’s therapy sessions; today’s results are commendable.

Dr. Pooja was so approachable always, and that’s so important for a parent. Bavita Maan and Divya Maam have immense capabilities to deal with children on the spectrum. Their phenomenal patience and techniques helped my child overcome the hurdle.

Today when I look at my child, my heart fills with gratitude to see that my little three years old has evolved with a personality of his own. He not only speaks but now uses words that are tongue twisters, and his storytelling is a treat to my ears. All thanks to continua kids’ faculty as it is never easy as they have to deal with many kids of different age brackets with unique problems that ASD gets, depending on where your child is in the spectrum. A good therapist can turn these kids into unique human beings and make them realize their potential in and outside the session classes, and continua kids is a place with the expertise to deal with all ASD issues. The doctors and therapists in continua kids taught me. My child how to deal with different situations, and the way the training was imparted was fun for the child ..While my child went through sessions, I kept sitting in the waiting area at the center and learned everything takes time, and patience and perseverance are the keys.
I look back on that time as an essential phase in the development of the person I am today and my child’s streak development. I’m most grateful to the Continua Kids team for the little advice, vote of encouragement, and push when needed, which has made my child into a capable growing man. I strongly recommend continua kids if your child needs help, and I would also advise you to stick with the schedule and trust their abilities; things will work out just like they did for me. I will be more than delighted to speak with any concerned parents and address all their apprehensions as and when they need to. Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Pooja and the whole team at continua kids. Thank you for instilling hope and working wonders.
With gratitude & heartfelt thanks
Nida

We met Dr. Himani around July 2020, when our Paediatrician noticed irregular speaking patterns (gibberish) in my son, then aged 18 months. During the first meeting with Dr. Himani, we figured that my son carried certain red flags like lack of eye contact/attentiveness, inability to respond to names, etc. We immediately converted our house to a screen-free home and initiated my son’s occupational therapy. He improved exponentially over the last couple of months, owing to his regular sessions with the doctor and the specific customized program provided to him. My son now speaks meaningful words, gives complete attention, maintains eye contact, and becomes active in his daily activities/chores. She has been an angel to our child as I daily watch my son grow in his behavioral skills and attributes. I greatly appreciate Dr. Himani’s efforts, persistence, and passion for doing something worthwhile for children with special needs and their families. She conducted periodic assessments with the therapists and us to assess the sustainability of my son’s program and development. Though most parents refuse to acknowledge such attributes as a disorder, such behavioral challenges with children can be overcome with timely interventions and guidance by the right expert like hers. I, as a parent, would remain indebted to her.

At two, Amarah was an intelligent, bright, bubbly child. However, she was always a little late in achieving the significant milestones that one expects in an infant. She also suffered from severe allergies to seafood definitely, but also other things we could not identify. Our journey began with a visit to one pediatrician in Gurgaon with the hope that he would help us handle and solve this problem. During our visit, Doctor asked us many questions while, Amarah sat on the floor playing with a stuffed toy given to her. At the end of the visit, Doctor asked us to contact Dr. Prapti in what we later realized was a section for children with special needs. And that is where our real journey with Amarah’s Autism began. Dr.Himani did the first evaluation, followed by an evaluation cum counseling session by Dr. Pooja Grover. They informed us that Amarah was very low on the spectrum with issues related to Sensory Integration but would need intense intervention. They shared the news with us gently but firmly, and the kind of support and positivity they enthused in us will always be grateful for six months after that, Amarah visited the center every day, where Dr. Prapti worked tirelessly with her for one hour every day. Dr.Himani and Dr. Pooja’s suggestions ensured that Amarah had robust social engagements, constantly interacting with people at school or play. She also started piano classes on their recommendation, and at the end of six months, we could see the benefit all these things brought to her life. The journey was difficult but Amarah’s mother proved to be a model mother following up with everything suggested, working with Amarah for long hours, and consistently incorporating all exercises and suggestions. As a family now, Amarah was the center of our universe. During the period of therapy, the team – Dr. Chabbra, Dr. Himani, and Dr. Pooja constantly monitored and evaluated Amarah’s progress and gave us support and direction in handling things when her therapy sessions in the center eventually ended. Today, Amarah lives in a country where she is part of a well-organized system that supports children with differences inside and outside school. But for the team that worked so hard, so supportive, and so professionally in the early months, we will forever be thankful.

Our son was identified with delayed developmental milestones. Our family doctor suggested Continua Kids. After the assessment, we were suggested for OT and Special education. We have seen a lot of improvement in our son; he can write alphabets and numbers quickly. He is much more confident in performing tasks.
Getting early consultation is always beneficial if the child is facing difficulties. Proper treatment/training will surely help the kid. Therapies offer exercises and activities to help the child achieve developmental milestones.

We would recommend Continua Kids to everyone. All the therapists are trained, experienced, and supportive—our sincere thanks to Dr. Himani for all the help and support.

Lavik was very aggressive and restless. He never used to sit still for a second. We took him for the diagnosis and found him very hyperactive. His vocabulary consisted of three to four words or sentences. After three months of training, we saw a massive improvement in his behavior. After the training, he can now connect with others, especially older adults. His vocabulary stock has also increased. He can now eat alone and express his needs. He made lots of friends at school and in the park.
Living an everyday life as other children do.

In 2016, our son (Atha** Ar***d) was diagnosed with ADHD at the early age of 3 years by Dr. Himani Narula.
It was astonishing and shocking as parents, but under Dr. Himani’s very friendly guidance, we enrolled for treatment at Continua Kids (Gurugram). Before the treatment, he could not speak even a single word and wouldn’t sit in one place. After the treatment, my son’s speech has become like that of typical kids, and he can also sit in one place for 20 to 30 minutes.
Our world completely changed due to the guidance of Dr. Himani Narula. I must say, you are like an angel to my son. God bless you, and I pray for more success in life as you continue to treat kids like my son and change their lives.
